We present a scheme for transferring quantum state between atom and cavityfield in Jaynes-Cummings model. It is based on the fact that the atom in acavity can induce the generation of modified coherent states, which can beshown to be macroscopically distinguishable. The application on two-cavitysystem provides an alternative scheme for preparation of non-localsuperpositions of quasi-classical light states. Numerical simulation shows thatthe proposed schemes are efficient.
